課程概述 |
Although the Fossil Record is relatively incomplete, there are fossil deposits known as deposits of exceptional preservation occurred at certain critical time intervals and/or specific environmental conditions. They provide a wealth of information about the life in the past. The good stories about the past life in Earth history will be emphasized and discussed here. |
課程目標 |
This course is designed to introduce the best examples of exceptionally preserved fossils in the fossil record. Students will be exposed to various famous fossil deposits worldwide and be engaged in classroom discussions on the history of discovery, scientific values and specific environmental factors required for preserving each fossil deposit. |
課程要求 |
Students will be required to participate in every class discussion and do so entirely in English.
Note: Students must be prepared to listen and respond to different opinions on controversial issues. |
